Marketing Tip of the Month

Building Brand Equity

There are four steps in building a brand:

1. Create AWARENESS of the product or service; familiarize existing and potential customers with brand attributes such as innovation, value, customer service, trust, and technology leadership.

2. Induce CONSIDERATION of the products and services by those exposed to the advertiser's message

3. Establish PREFERENCE for the brand by stressing its values to the customer, and so they will spread the message by recommending the brand

4. Inspire PURCHASE (preferably with up-sells, cross-sells, and repeat business).2
